Overview

Under the immediate supervision of the Chef Manager, is responsible for a variety of tasks to support the dietary department and demonstrating competence in the performance of duties related to ensuring sanitation within the department.

 

Qualifications

Education: Employee should demonstrate ability to read and follow verbal instructions

Experience: No experience required, on the job training available

Responsibilities

Cleaning

  • Cleans working area as required by department’s safety and sanitation guidelines including the following: kitchen encounters, front of the dish machine and the clean dish rack side of the dish machine, dish rack storage shelf, cleaning and organizing the storage racks in the dish room
  • Mops and cleans floors and empties trash
  • Cleans and wipes down kitchen equipment

Food Carts

  • Helps in delivering, pick-up, and cleaning of food carts

Stocking

  • Routinely inspects kitchen and dining areas to insure items are stocked and meet sanitary conditions

Other

  • Assists the Chef with food preparation as instructed
  • Follows department dress code
