Under the immediate supervision of the Chef Manager, is responsible for providing dining room services to Sugar Hill residents. Responsible for preparing food product as directed by Chef Manager/Sous Chef. Responsible for filling in as lead cook of the Sugar Hill breakfast dining program in the absence of the primary Breakfast Cook.



Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience: Culinary training or proven working ability to produce quality meals. Experience with all aspects of food preparation. Ability to relate well with residents



  • Prepares and serves breakfast to residents and caters to residents reasonably requests
  • Serves meals to residents in dining room for dinner and brunch
  • Serves meals at catered events as required


  • Resets dining room in Assisted Living
  • Responsible for sanitation of kitchen and storage areas as required
  • Completes work check list and/or closing shift duties as applicable
  • Performs duties of dishwashing, cleaning, and sanitation of kitchen and/or dining room cleaning/reset on a rotational basis
  • Setting and clearing tables
  • Setting up for resident functions


  • Washes all breakfast dishes
  • Manages food so as to minimize waste
  • Assists Chef Manager and Sous Chef in prepping of food product for both Assisted Living and resident dining
  • Maintains par stock of every day use items to include but not limited to fresh herb and fresh fruit
  • In absence of Chef Manager and Sous Chef, prepares Sunday evening meals for Assisted Living as well as washing, cleaning, sanitizing, and closing on Sunday evening

Other Primary Duties

  • Works collaboratively with Chef Manager and Assisted Living staff to coordinate menu selection in accordance with dietary requirements of residents
  • Set up and break down of events and functions as required outside of dining room area
  • Opening and closing side work as directed by supervisor to include but not limited to preparing and packaging takeout orders
  • Communicated residents needs to kitchen
