  • Overview

    Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, is responsible for the overall management of dining services and dietary staff at Sugar Hill.


    Education: High school diploma or equivalent

    Experience: Culinary training or working proven ability to produce quality and gracious meals. Experience with all aspects of kitchen management and production. Knowledge of special diets. Ability to relate well with residents


    Manage Sugar Hill Kitchen

    • Responsible for training and supervision of all kitchen employees and developing work schedules
    • Manages food in such a way as to minimize waste and get maximum utility from all products
    • Orders all foodstuffs. Monitors prices from various suppliers and orders accordingly. Insures qualified person is on premises to receive all deliveries.
    • Develops program budget and controls food costs

    Meal Planning

    • Responsible for menu planning and coordination in accordance with dietary requirements of Sugar Hill residents
    • Responsible for planning and preparation of all evening meals, Monday-Saturday, and Sunday brunch, delegating when necessary
    • Responsible for planning and preparation of other meals and catering when required
    • Periodically meets with residents for food service planning


    • Responsible for sanitation of kitchen, equipment, and storage areas

    Service Standards

    • Develops and maintains services standards regarding presentation, portions, and nutritional content
