  • Overview

    Under the immediate supervision of the Medical Imaging Manager, is responsible for conducting routine Echo exams and ensuring all physician and patient needs are met through clinical and administrative tasks per established departmental policies and procedures and all applicable laws.


    This is a part-time position.


    Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred or Associates degree or equivalent program with a Cardiovascular Technologist Certificate.

    Experience: 1-2 years clinical experience

    Licensure: Registered in Adult Cardiac Sonography by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Basic Life Support (BLS) required.


    Performs Echo Exams

    • Obtain quality Transthoracic Echocardiogram images consistent with department protocol and in compliance with standards set by the ARDMS.
    • Manage all Ultrasound equipment and recognize significant diagnostic information
    • Performs Echocardiogram, transesophageal echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, dobutamine stress echocardiograms.
    • Completes preliminary report of findings that include necessary measurements and calculations using a digital review station.
    • Performs IV access if necessary


    • Recognizes emergency situations and provides assistance to the patient or health care team.
    • Ensures safety measures implemented as necessary for age specific patient population


    • Ensures all computed and digital images are properly archived on Synapse
    • Scan Documents in a timely manner
    • trouble shoot as needed
    • push images to other Hospitals
    • burn Cd's/and enter Tech notes into each exam completed


    • Ensures timely reporting of exams
    • Charges exams correctly
    • Prints Schedules and checks Patient orders
    • Confirms patient identity with two identifiers.
